Requirements
Must-haves
- 4+ years of software development experience
- Experience with React
- Experience with TypeScript, HTML, CSS
- Experience with NodeJS
- Experience with Python
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL)
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Experience with coding agents and AI-assisted engineering tools
- Experience taking a product from the ground up
- Startup experience and a move-fast mentality
- Ability to review and refine AI-generated code when needed
- Strong communication skills in both spoken and written English
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with the Tanstack Start framework for building web components
- Experience with FastAPI for Python-based API development
- Experience with cloud providers and deployment pipelines (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Experience with containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience building Education Technology products
- Experience with solutions in regulated environments handling PII (e.g., education, healthcare)
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
What you will work on
- Design and build scalable, high-performing web applications
- Create and maintain web components (e.g., Tanstack Start, Mantine, React, HTML, CSS, TypeScript)
- Develop back-end services and APIs (e.g., NodeJS, Python)
- Investigate and fix bugs, performance bottlenecks, and related issues
- Safeguard code quality through peer reviews, automated testing, and established best practices
- Produce clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Partner with cross-functional teams across product management, design, and engineering to ship reliable solutions
- Keep current with emerging technologies and industry trends
